Liberica is a vanishing species of coffee that is only now being brought back from the brink of extinction. Its almond-shaped beans have an exceptional aroma, almost floral and fruity, while its flavor is full and slightly earthy. Kopi Luwak Liberica is a great way to enjoy Liberica because the Luwak process brings out even more of the rich, full body of the Liberica.
When you drink this coffee, not only are you experiencing what is truly the world's rarest coffee (the rarest bean, made using the rarest process), but you are also helping to preserve a heritage coffee species that even now fights for its continued existence, as well as the indigenous Luwak civet who dines on its juicy cherries and the local farmers who have cultivated the coffee and protected the civets for generations.
Please note that the packaging in the most recent shipment looks different from the picture as we have not yet photographed the new packaging. It is now a foil bag with authenticity labeling, inside a hand-crafted golden brown textile pouch made in the Philippines. We include a scroll telling the story of the coffee and the company that produced it, with brewing suggestions. Ideally brewed in a Phin filter or French Press, this Kopi Luwak is unlike any other coffee.
We enjoy it with cream, but you should expect to experiment a bit for your own tastes.
